Against self improvement

I don’t know about you but I’m fed up with all these self-improvement podcasts, blogs, books and other media. It makes you feel like you’re persistently under achieving. So what if I could be more productive by following some prescribed steps or model. I can be happy without being at my best in everything I do. In fact I like the idea that I’ve got some latent unused potential in case of emergency. Maybe I’m lazy or arrogant but I’m happy to rely on my good sense and instincts to tell me how to do things well. Go and read some of the articles on Lifehack and you’ll see most of those busy bodies don’t even have a command of proper English. I can’t help but think of those who dispense of all this sage advice as losers to some extent. You have to be so unsatisfied with who you are to consistently be trying to

yourself in every respect. Why would I take advice from someone so discontented? Fuck off and let us live and learn without your optimizing formulas!
